Client Information

Appointments

What times are available for appointments?

Non-emergency consultations are seen Monday to Friday (8.30am – 12.30pm; 2pm – 5.30pm).

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment simply contact the UQ VETS Small Animal Hospital during business hours on 07 54601788. One of our friendly reception staff will find an appropriate and convenient time for you and your companion animal to see one of our veterinarians.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Although the UQ VETS Small Animal Hospital business hours are Monday to Friday (8am – 6pm), our veterinarians are not always available to see patients at any time. They may be in surgery, treating hospitalised patients, or teaching students.  Clients who have a true emergency will be seen as quickly as possible but non-urgent cases presented without an appointment may have to wait until a veterinarian is free.

For your convenience, we strongly urge you to make an appointment in advance. If you have an emergency, try to call us before you arrive, so we can be ready for you.

If you are a new client or an existing client bringing in a new family member for the first time you can assist by completing the attached 'Ownership Declaration Form' and return to clinic via email or fax prior to your appointment.

What do I need to bring?

Please download, print and fill in the Owner Declaration Form on this page (both sides) and bring it with you or fax / email through in advance.
Please bring any relevant medical history with you – vaccination certificates, previous medical records from other veterinarians, X-rays etc. – and any medications your pet may be on.

Please ensure your pet is safely secured; dogs must be on a leash and other pets must be contained in a secure carrying cage. Remember, although you may be confident your pet will behave without restraint, you never know what other animals may be in the Hospital when you arrive!

Many of  our  clients  may  travel  long distances  with their  companions  to receive treatment.
