Rebecca de Gier

Veterinary Nurse

BAppSc (Wildlife Science) Cert IV Veterinary Nursing

Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Animal Production and Wildlife Biology in 2008, in 2011 completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and in 2016 completed a Diploma of General Practice. Bec is currently the Deputy Lead Nurse in the small animal hospital and the senior veterinary nurse in the Avian and Exotics department.

For as long as Bec can remember she wanted to work with animals.  After graduating from the University of Queensland Gatton she knew she would one day come back, joining the team in 2014 working in the ICU department before starting work within the Avian and Exotic department which is her passion. Bec loves all animals’ great and small. She loves spending time with all the weird and wonderful pets seen by the Avian and Exotic Service. Along with her clinic work Bec enjoys lecturing and instructing practicals as part of undergraduate degrees.
