Emergency

Thank you for considering in bringing your companion to UQ VETS Pet Emergency Centre.

If you or your veterinarian feel your pet is having an emergency please call us immediately on 54601788 or alternatively come directly to the Small Animal Hospital if you  are unable to reach us by phone. When you arrive simply push the buzzer on the front door and staff will come to your assistance as soon as possible. We are always here  but we  trust you understand we may be caught up with a patient in need and may be unable to pick up the phone at that exact time. Our patients are our priority.

Our team of vets and nurses will provide both 24 hour emergency veterinary services and critical care of critically ill hospitalised patients in our state-of-the-art veterinary intensive care unit when your companion needs emergency attention.

Emergency & Critical Care

UQ VETS Pet Emergency Centre at the Small Animal Hospital offers specialised 24 hour Intensive Care / Emergency Unit including a  fully  staffed  after hours veterinary service. This  service is open to all and is ideally located to service the needs of patients from Ipswich to Toowoomba, including Gatton, Esk and Laidley.

In an emergency, when you want the care for your pet you would want for yourself, UQ VETS Pet Emergency Centre is there 24/7 365.  Led by a board-certified emergency and critical care veterinarian (specialist), an experienced team of dedicated and compassionate vets and nurses keep up-to-date with all the latest advancements in diagnostics and treatments in companion animal emergency and critical care.  We are there round the clock to ensure your pet receives the very best care and can keep you informed at any time of the day.

On arrival your pet will be triaged and if critically ill will be seen immediately. If your pet is stable, it will be seen by one of our experienced vets as soon as triage allows.

We have the support of veterinary specialists in other disciplines at UQ VETS, so that if ongoing care for your pet is required outside of the emergency and critical care setting, the very best care is available in a one Veterinary Hospital. With cutting edge diagnostic equipment and the vast knowledge of a range of veterinary specialists, your pet will be afforded the very best care.

If your pet has insurance please bring the necessary paper work so we can help with claims to your insurer.
